Caroline MacGillivray
Caroline MacGillivray, the Founder and Executive Director Beauty Night Society, believes that healthy self-esteem can be fostered through entertaining and interactive educational programming. She has affected the lives of thousands, and is a Flare Volunteer Award recipient, Spirit of the Crane Gold Community Award recipient, and a five-time YWCA Woman of Distinction Nominee. Stephanie Michelle Scott
Stephanie Scott heard about Beauty Night Society from a newspaper article in 2001. It was not until founder Caroline McGillivray asked her to help organize an event two years ago that she found herself inspired by the dedicated volunteers that daily proved Margaret Mead’s statement: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” Presently, she volunteers as part of Promotions Committee member at large, and on call to lend a hand at events. Stephanie Michelle Scott is a Social Media strategist at Wildfire Effect Consulting and helps business and individuals use social media tools to design and implement effective and measurable strategy to promote memorable online interaction.
David Chen, BSc., BA, CSA
David Chen is the Treasurer of Beauty Night Society and oversees general business growth practices. He also participates in the promotions committee as he believes that Board members should also be engaged in the front-lines work of an organisation. He is the owner and primary financial advisor of DC Complete Financial, where he helps families with disabled children to plan for their financial future.
Helen Evans, MA
Helen Evans is a communications specialist and research analyst who has worked in the not-for-profit sector for many years. She is also a researcher, writer, editor, and web editor. A friend of Caroline’s since high school, she helped out with the Christmas Stocking Drive one year and was touched to see how much difference Caroline was making to the lives of women in the Downtown East Side, and how truly important Beauty Night is to its participants. She joined the promotions committee in 2010 to contribute her communications planning and web content writing and editing skills, and to provide communications support for the many events and activities that Beauty Night runs throughout the year.
