Most of our programming takes place in the evening. Once in a while we make an exception. When Passion Foundation’s Founder, Loretta Cella asked if we could do a day time event, we said,” Yes.” Our team of volunteers (Terra, Amanda B, Sheryl, Fiona, Rebecca, and Amanda) showed up at Burnaby Neighbourhood House yesterday afternoon to provide makeovers for 4 -5 girls who were graduating high school. They would be heading straight to their high school graduation ceremony.
“Today I got the privilege of participating in these girls prom prep. These girls have pushed leaps and bounds to create lives for themselves and stay in school where others had not. They fought all odds and are making their way into the world! I’m so blessed they stayed committed to their leadership development with the support of their community and are now going on to college and employment to be active members in our world! Girls the world is your oyster!!!” said Loretta.
Our volunteers styled hair, applied makeup and painted nails for these beautiful young ladies. Their excitement about going to their prom was contagious. It was wonderful to work with such lovely young ladies and the Passion Foundation.
“BIG BIG thanks to @beautynightsociety for coming to partner with us today to help give a special treat of hair makeup and nails to 7 amazing young women who I’ve worked with over the last couple years at a Burnaby school! You ladies made their graduation prom very special!” said Passion Foundation’s Founder, Loretta Cella
