We’ve seen the power of music therapy. Many of our community partners offer music therapy programs. Fabrice, one of our medical qi gong practitioners offers treatments with a tuning fork. The power of sound can in incredible. There are many studies that document the power of healing sounds.

When you combine sound and community, there is joy. Our friends from HUM visited us at one of our weekly Beauty Nights at the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre. It was the day before Cheque Issue. Many of our participants were feeling down. Foot care, reiki and facials were in demand from our wonderful volunteers. It was the perfect first night for our friends from HUM to visit.
Rumour has it that many of our participants were tapping the foot (not being massaged or soaked in epson salt water tubs) in time to the magical music of HUM

Musicians and singers serenaded our beautiful participants. Dancing, singing and laughter brightened the air. The sweet combination of music and makeovers was euphoria. We are hoping this is the first of many events to bring joy to our beautiful participants. Thank you HUM!
