Last night our participants got spoiled with a live performance by World Hip Hop Mom. Volunteers & participants paused to groove and cheer for World Hip Hop Mom as she rapped. When asked why she raps, she said, “To inspire our youth with more conscious and meaning messages through the medium of hip hop. It’s difficult to turn on the radio these days without hearing words such as sexy, baby, and naked – I am on a mission to make main stream music more inspirational and positive.”
We are lucky to have World Hip Hop Mom aka Monica Morong as one of our Tuesday night volunteers. “Giving back to the community is a necessary responsibility as a contributing member of society. We need to look beyond our own walls to see who else needs help beyond our immediate family and friends.”
